Legacy Gifts
The Shepherd Society was established in 2002 to honor individuals who include Collier Youth Services in their estate plan. The Society exemplifies the importance of such gifts and expresses Collier’s grateful appreciation to people whose planned gift will provide for Collier Youth Services into the future. Membership in the Shepherd Society is open to anyone who makes an estate or other planned gift commitment.
Gifts by Will:
A bequest is one of the easiest ways to leave a legacy gift that is also 100% deductible from your taxable estate.
You may name Collier as a beneficiary in your will by designating:
-
a specific gift of cash or property
-
a percentage of your total estate assets
-
all or a portion of your estate that remains after all specific bequests have been distributed
Other Easy Planned Gifts:
You can name Collier as a beneficiary of an IRA, 401K or Insurance policy simply by filling out a change of beneficiary form.
When to contact the Development Office:
-
If you are planning a bequest for a specific purpose and want to be sure that your objectives can be met.
-
If you have already named Collier as a beneficiary in your will or other planned gift such as a Charitable Remainder Trust, life insurance policy, IRA or bank account.
-
If you would like sample bequest language and the correct legal name to use for restricted and unrestricted gifts.
-
If you would like to become a member of the Shepherd Society. Anyone who makes a commitment of a bequest or other planned gift qualifies for membership.
