Kateri Camp Summer Positions
JOB POSTINGS FOR SUMMER 2022
Looking for a summer job or summer internship that will give you experience for your next step as a teacher or social worker? Working at camp will give you the hands-on experience you need to manage a diverse group of children, develop creative activities and lessons, and grow your understanding of young people.
Kateri Day Camp provides over 200 children, ages 5-13, a safe and wholesome summer camp experience. Daily activities include swim lessons, hikes, nature games, sports, arts & crafts, literacy, science, and other special events.
Positions available:
Summer Camp Group Counselors – Responsible for supervising groups of campers ages 5-13. Must be creative, energetic, able to engage children in different activities, able to encourage growth, responsible and respectful. Must be at least 18 years of age and have experience working with children.
Summer Camp Junior Counselors – Responsible for assisting the counselors with a group of campers ages 5-9. Must be energetic, patient, responsible, respectful, and have some experience working with children. Must be between 16 and 17 years of age and provide working papers.
Summer Camp Lifeguards/Swim Instructors – Responsible for daily swim lessons and Lifeguard duties for children ages 5-13. Must have a valid American Red Cross Lifeguard certification including First Aid and CPR or be available to successfully complete these courses that are available at Kateri Day Camp. Please inquire for more details about certification.
Summer Camp Sports and Activities Specialist – Responsible for implementing a fun, active sports/activities program for campers ages 5-15. Must be energetic, fun-loving, and able to engage campers in outdoor games, team building, and movement activities. Experience coaching, working in a youth sports camp, or certified gym teacher.
Qualifications:
Must have a sincere desire to work with children.
Must be able to work the entire summer and attend mandatory training.
Previous experience working with children preferred.
Must be hardworking, diligent, energetic, respectful and responsible.
Must love being outdoors.

Relief Counselor - Group Home
The Collier Group Home is seeking relief counselors to fill overnight shifts from 11 pm to 7:30 am Sunday thru Thursday. We are also seeking relief counselors for Friday and Saturday shifts from 11 pm to 11 am.
Job Duties to include but are not limited to: Learning and Practicing the Sanctuary Model, overseeing activities throughout the day and evenings, of the young female residents of the Group Home, to include transporting to appointments and activities and assisting in the teaching of independent living skills.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred. A valid Driver's license with a clean driving record is required. The ability to bend, climb stairs and lift up to 15 lbs. when needed is required. Candidates must be able to effectively communicate and work with all levels of program staff and exercise sound judgment when interacting with the residents. Prior experience working with the Sanctuary Model and with adolescent females in a group home setting is a plus.

Responsibilities:
- Provide appropriate mandated speech-language services to middle and high school students with special needs
- Work with students exhibiting a full range of communication disorders, including those involving language, social communication, articulation, fluency and voice/resonance.

Director of Social Services
Collier High School is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and innovative Director for the High School Social Service Department. The HS Director of Social Services is responsible for the program design,
management and supervision of all aspects of the School Social Services Department and Programming.
They must ensure the continuing provision of therapeutic services and the overall planning for the youth and families in our care. The Director of Social Services is responsible for the coordination and delivery of clinical services. They provide supervision and training to all social service staff. The director
utilizes and coordinates the different services of the program as they pertain to the individual treatment plan developed for each student. The Director of Social Services is a member of the High School Administrative Team.
Responsibilities:
- Direct supervision of social workers and counselors on a weekly basis.
- Provide supervision and make clinical recommendations to social workers during weekly supervision, which includes treatment and transition planning of students.
- Improve, deepen and expand the clinical expertise and practices of the social service department.
- Be committed to fostering a professional learning community and developing programs that will provide comprehensive treatment services in line with the evolution of the field and the changing needs of the agency and population served.
- Oversee and maintain agency adherence to confidentiality and FERPA requirements.
- Identify and implement throughout the department a uniform platform for progress notes, documentation, and record-keeping according to NJ State Board of Social Work Examiners and best practice standards.
- Schedule quarterly clinical and professional development training for staff, including trauma-informed and evidence-based practices.
- Supervise and coordinate the intake process; reading referrals; and scheduling tours, screenings, and admissions meetings.
- Maintain a mutually supportive atmosphere among team members and throughout the agency.
- Oversee assessments, data analysis, continuous quality improvement, program evaluation, and planning to best address emerging needs and programmatic responses to students and families served.
- Maintain a small caseload, as necessary.
- Provide mission and values, and administrative orientation to all new staff including risk management, performance measurement and improvement, corporate compliance, strategic planning, health and safety, and cultural competency.
- Develop annual and quarterly training and conduct performance reviews of all department staff.
- Act as liaison between district Child Study Teams.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with referring districts, Child Study Team, child and family, and mental health organizations.
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with high school administrators, teachers, and supportive services: STAR, Shepherding, Psychiatric, Psychological Consultative Services, and Occupational and Speech Therapies to promote healthy and positive program functioning.
- Be responsible for the accuracy and completion of all reports and information sent to CSTs, parents, and community partners.
- Recruit, interview, hire and train new staff members.
- Attend required agency meetings, community, county, or state meetings, and training.
- Participate in committees/activities relating to advocacy for children and families affected by mental health issues, or designate appropriate staff representatives for participation.

- Collaborate with marketing and development staff to improve program visibility.
- Complete other projects or tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a Master's Degree in Social Work or have a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling accompanied by an NJ Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license or be a Licensed Professional Counselor.
- Must possess a Clinical Supervisor's certification to supervise licensed clinicians.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years working in the mental health field, with at least 3 years supervising staff.
- Must have working experience with CBT, DBT, Exposure Therapy, Functional Behavioral Assessments, Trauma-Informed Care, and any other modalities that will best serve our students and families.
- Must have experience with, and oversee, staff compliance with DOE and IEP standards and requirements.
- Must have experience problem solving and de-escalating crisis situations.
- Must demonstrate a high level of cultural competence, sensitivity, and responsiveness.
