The Collier Administration would like to assure parents, guardians, staff, and youth served that we are well prepared if any issues arise in the future with Coronavirus.

Although there have been reported cases in our nation, none of those cases have been in our local area or have impacted our school. However, we are monitoring developments in the spread of the Coronavirus disease for any potential impact to our school. It is important to remember that, for the general American public, who are unlikely to be exposed to this virus, the immediate health risk from the Coronavirus is considered low. We are following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the New Jersey Department of Health, and the Monmouth County Health Department to keep our school safe from the spread of disease.

We want to share the steps Collier is taking to protect our students and staff to prevent the spread of any potential illnesses:

What preventative measures is Collier School currently taking?

  • All classroom teachers have spray bottles with disinfectant, which allow them to wipe down surfaces throughout the school day.
  • Our cleaning vendor has been notified to make sure all surfaces are wiped down on a nightly basis with an additional deep cleaning every Friday night.
  • Students are being reminded to wash their hands with soap and water after using the restrooms and before eating.
  • Additional dispensers with hand sanitizers were purchased and are being displayed throughout the schools for students and staff to utilize.
  • Distance learning programs are being researched in case of a health outbreak.
